Along with the udderly shocking news of the Zen Moo, we can now tell you about the Zen Mi. It isn't a new player per se, but rather a speaker with an adapter specifically made for the Zen Krystal, a player released in China a few months back. Unlike most other speaker solutions from Creative, the Mi is fairly compact and actually designed to look like a regular MP3 player. click to enlarge The Krystal pops right into the front of the Mi for a nice flush look. click to enlarge There's also a kickstand on the back, as well as controls on the top of the unit for the speakers. click to enlarge The Zen Mi actually sounds like a decent concept if you think about it. Right now, I have multiple players for various purposes. Some players with larger screens to watch videos on, and smaller players for when I'm more active. Wouldn't it be cool if you could have one player for both? The Mi has a slightly larger form-factor than the ZEN, but just replace the controls of the latter with the Krystal and voila! Two players for the price of one. Hopefully Creative is thinking along my lines, but if not, I hope they're listening. It's not clear whether the Mi will be sold separately from the Krystal, and whether either product will see daylight outside of China. Like always, we'll make sure to keep you up to date on the latest. via IMP3 |
