I know this isn't the best way to do so, but as I've seen, no-one has done this, so I thought, I'd share these images with Epizenter. And no, I haven't find a way to put them back in the nk.bin file, so don't ask me for one. 1167757746_4339_FT0_firm.zipedit: For newcomers to this thread: read this and see this for firmware uploading edit2: see this for themes etc.

Then I made a little script (in PHP, because it's the only language i'm pretty good at atm) to split the file up in an array. Then I wrote every element to a file, and I read somewhere that there are PNG files in the NK.bin So I searched the file header for a PNG file and I adjusted the script.

![]() Joined: Wed Oct 25 (2006) 01:20PM Posts: 231 | I know nothing about scripting, but I downloaded them just to see what kind of images the firmware offers that I haven't seen. The one with the ZVM being plugged into a black box was kind of interesting...however, do you (the OP) own a 60g? All I can think of is that the image is for the USB host thing. my vast DAP collection: Creative ZVM 30G (black) MPIO FL350 512Mb (blue) Samsung YP-K5 4gb Apple iPod Touch 8gb (pre-ordered) Want to know what it's like to live in Nunavut, Canada? Especially look at the 4_new.txt file, cause the strings are in there(it's a cleaned version of 4.txt) And I left out 857.png cause it's to big (16MB) and it sure isn't a PNG file. I also updated the PHP file, if anyone is interested. Edit: Apparently, there isn't an attachment, I think because the forum doesn't allow files of this size so I will be uploading it to rapidshare or something like that... Edit2: Here's the link: http://rapidshare.com/files/9934636/firmware_extracted.zip.html Edit3: Oh yeah, and if anyone knows what SWORDFISH_RESOURCE means, or for what it stands, or which program has been used for it, plz tell me because I found this string in the NK.bin file...

That's interesting about the image...I wonder what it's for. my vast DAP collection: Creative ZVM 30G (black) MPIO FL350 512Mb (blue) Samsung YP-K5 4gb Apple iPod Touch 8gb (pre-ordered) Want to know what it's like to live in Nunavut, Canada? ![]() Joined: Tue Oct 10 (2006) 01:22PM Posts: 284 | Even if I could (and it sure is possible, but I can't do it), we would put the firmware back on the device and I don't think anyone knows how to do this (and this is also possible). We would have to sniff the USB and capture the packets and then fake an upgrade with the modified firmware OR we could try to put back the firmware in the .exe file, but I think it's a) signed b) encrypted c) both and I don't know anything about encryption...
