So, no players seem to be coming out of IFA or COMEX. But, Creative does have weird release patterns, so we might see something before the year ends...who knows. Next year, something will come for sure...most likely a Style refresh...

I never thought about these, but sumwon is actually right....
the only way it could be intresting is if the zii egg gets a low price tag
so people will think twice before buying an Ipod....
like they are doing right now basicly...

@Brandonson: sure, the new iPod eats up a lot of the (formerly) unique features of the Zii EGG, but Creative is still hanging in there with these: GPS, HD output, SD card and broad codec support. That is, if they were actually selling them (or planning to)...

they've just bastardised the ipod nano. its laughable now. I know touchscreen is the rage nowadays but its on a smaller screen. there's unnecessary wait to change to other screens and you lose out on video and a bigger screen. I dont know how anyone can see that as an upgrade. the clickwheel was one of things that made the ipod navigation great. look it now :S its all about the ipod touch now. its practically saying. if you haven't got an ipad, iphone, they are pretty much saying their multimedia mp3 player is the touch and if you want it all go here and spend on our app store :S lame

I feel this is pathetic..
But what is the exact screen width and height?
I know it is 2.5" and 240x320 pixels, but pixels may be not squares.
Can smb measure please! Thnks

you don't need a ruler to figure this out. In fact, you can figure it out even if you don't own a ZEN! You know that it is 2.5 inches diagonally, and the aspect ratio is 4:3. So using the 'Guess and Check' method along with the Pythagorean Theorem, you'll find out that the ZEN's screen size is 2 x 1.5 inches.

if you have a TI graphics calculator:
solve(x^2+y^2=2.54*2.5 and x/4=y/3,[x,y])
we do things in cm over here...

Guys! and girls!
I _know_ that it is 2.5" and that it is 240x320 by pixel count (or 3:4)! And I use metric (yes, cm) and I can use Pythagorean. But only if pixels are square i.e. thir height equals width. If they are non-square (height not equal to width), knowing diagonal and ratio of the sides not gonna give answer.
And YES, I do suspect that 3:4 is NOT by pixel count, but is total picture sides ratio, hence pixels ARE squares. But I wanted to make sure... And that's why I asked in the forum.

Could some lucky ZVM owner please grab a ruler and MEASURE?

(Hey, measure not pixels, but screen sides! ))))))))

The screen is 320x240, its wider then it is taller, so its 4:3. It IS 2" wide x 1.5" high. That IS the ACTUAL dimensions of the screen.

with a ruler: 5.1cm x 3.80cm
damn...i didn't actually give you the answer in my last post!!!
with my formula: 5.08cm x 3.81cm
which is close enough, since measuring tenths of a mm is hard
