i know it looks shite.. really its cheap shite.. stuff thats prob going to break out the box.. but the idea is what people a wee while ago wanted... before the tablets started.. and yes 4 video codecs ..its cheap shite.. but at least someone is doing it... if creative did it.. and sold me a zen omega without the drive..
Update.. zen v+ is alive.. after charging for a week it popped up "My Zen"..

And as for your zen v+, what's going on with it? dead screen? or battery?

I've gone through 3 'dead' ones...two with dead screens, and one that lasted almost three years(dead battery, which can be replaced easily)

The disappointment of many fans of Creative's products is starting to LEAK into the tech journalism realm. No surprise there.. what is not clear is I don't think they actually know what Creative fans want..

Killing the UI (user interface) because they discontinued (temporarily?) the HDD players is a bit inaccurate... more evolved the UI with the ZEN model (to use icons as well). By-in-large creative fans agree the Creative UI was preserved.. but what many are MIFFED about is the killing off of HD players when flash players come with a measly 16gb of memory (pfft!!). For those who have seen the ipod classic's NEW UI (split screen), The early reviews say it's CLUTTERED and SLOWER than the older ipods (up to 50% slower). This is ALSO possibly due to media navigation because the 160gb HD is a 3600rpm LOW power consumption drive which *MAY* have something to do with slow browsing of media, but extend battery life.

What Creative's NEXT player (No, not the "ZEN") will be is still a mystery: few, if any know.. but the features fans are clamoring for are MORE capacity (flash REALLY should have started @ 32gb, sorry guys..), wifi, touch screen, higher bit-rate/resolution support, expanded/extended codec support (h.264 / divx 3 & 6-- for 2008).

If not, creative can just do a Linux UMPC for us and keep the lovely UI in a separate rom bios...
