Introduction

When I was younger, I remember going to family gatherings, and always seeing someone there recording the event. They lugged around these huge video cameras with something called a “VHS” inside of them. At later times, they’d show these videos to friends and family that weren’t there. Movies and TV shows have often parodied these camcorder-toting relatives of ours, who insisted on sharing home movies with everyone, but perhaps they were just ahead of their time.

Today, cameras have shrunk, and video quality has vastly improved, but the core idea has remained the same. We as a society still want to capture our personal lives, and share them with others. There is no greater evidence of this than Youtube. It has changed the way we think about social interaction. It isn’t just confined to newer generations either. The fact that my mom knows what Youtube is, shows just how much of a household name it has become.

A whole industry has been built around social networking sites like Youtube, Myspace, and others. One byproduct of that is the Pocket Cam. They’re designed to make it simpler than ever to upload our ups and downs to share with others. Of course, as soon as Youtube started embracing High Definition, the Pocket Cam industry would be quick to follow.

One of the best HD pocket cams to come out so far is the Creative Vado HD. I’ve been using it for several weeks now, and I absolutely love it. By the end of my review you just might feel the same way.
