More innovation (that actually makes it into PRODUCTS) is coming out of places such as India, Taiwan & China, than Japan these days. |

Dec 17 (2009) 10:34AM  | also nintendo Nintendo trademarks Bii, Cii, Oii, Yii and Zii What about the rest of the alphabet Nintendo. sheesh. there's aii.. dii.. eii. fiii. giii lol its the zii chip anyways it can always be called the Zen II.. but still i dont know if companies should be allowed to trademark names like this unless they actually use the trademark - that's how ridiculous i think trademarks and patents have become nowadays. a way to abuse the system. marketing it a different name in japan wont be too much of a problem. E.g the way canon has marketed the XXXD brands of cameras e.g 400D, Kiss, rebel. most adverts will need to be redesigned with japanese characters so investment in advertising and box design will need to be done anyways. |

Dec 19 (2009) 07:01AM | It is open knowledge that Zii stands for Zen II, and the mark is marketed for its media processing prowess as a platform. It does not intrude the gaming consumer market that WII is the dominate brand. Such restrictive protection by nintendo is unneccessary and prohibitive to the development for a common cause. I hope this does not affect the introduction of Zii as a consumer product. |
