Nice! I just got the X-Fi2 for review so I'll be testing out the improvements

looks like a nice update. I don't own this player but I was in the belief that the sd card has to be accessed separately and thus is not merged with the main library. that's also what this post says, strangely, today I got a response from a post I made on a youtube video of the creative channel and they responded this:

I got a Creative ZEN x-fi2 offer in my mail (now with free leather case and charger), showing a picture of the player and I wondered if the icons were coloured like that before. Well here's my answer. It's a great update, but the suddenly implemented accelerometer shows that the previous firmwares were really rushed.

Hmm this doesn't seem like such a bad deal now that creative are actually listening to people I mean we have to give them a little credit because they never really have been a company to bring out new features in firmware updates (or really change anything) i think it's great to see them listening to people, if this is the creative of the future then i would definately buy from them again.
I have always believed that creative has been verbally bashed quite unfairly-the xfi1 was amazing value, even though it didn't live up to peoples hopes,
and let's face it the xfi 2 isn't that bad.. i can find plenty of players worse than it..
The key thing is that they are making changes and that is always a good thing
hopefully no more diversification of the product line (MX or any of that crap) just a good small selection of competitive products properly marketed...c'mon creative there is hope for you yet

and you know what's scary about this.. somenone asked for these exact updates on their youtube channel... improved responsiveness, games and an accelerometer-and they did it!

But this time around, it's gonne be Microsoft getting my money. They are SO good at what they're dong. Did you guys SEE those new apps? That is SICK.

I'm liking it. It's a good looking player, and almost compelling enough to upgrade in lieu of waiting for a consumer Zii model, but not quite.

If I didn't already splurge on the 64gb Touch (on the way ATM) I'd have jumped on this darn thing, especially w/the FW update.

With this new firmware upgrade, now we're talking lol

This makes me really want the player, but with the possibility of a Zii player coming, I'm not quite sure.

What's an accelerometer?
ANyway, I downloaded this firmware and I did not like it. My player either takes too long to start up or doesn't start up AT ALL! And sometimes the battery is half-drained when I start it up after charging it the night before. Too many bugs in this firmware for me. I downgraded.

Darn. No firmware love for the original Zen X-Fi since late last year. It's nice as is, but I'm sure there is still room for improvement! After all, it does take forever to shutdown when I've done a "play all" on the over 5k of tracks I have loaded. I'm almost certain there is something that can be done about that.
