Capture life better with the new Vado HD (3rd Gen) in 5 different colors!

After a year since it released the Vado HD, Creative today updated the Vado line with the much anticipated Vado HD (3rd gen). Below is a summary of the main difference between the current Vado HD and the Vado HD (3rd gen):

-Stylish, glossy new look
-Motion detection mode
-Improved low light video recording
-Manual/auto exposure adjustment
-Mic-in
-Earphone jack
-Photo snapshot option
-Touch-sensitive buttons
-Out-of-the-box Mac & PC compatibility
-5 colors

I would say that Creative has fixed many of the complaints people had about the first Vado HD. For example, the less than stellar audio recording is now improved with the option for an external mic. You can now also take snapshots directly on the cam instead of using the bundled software. The USB connector and lens are no longer sticking out like a sore thumb! The only downsize i must say is the downsize in capacity (4GB) and the lack of an expansion slot! The Vado HD (3rd gen) will be available mid december for US$179.99 or SGD$299.99 at the Creative online stores.

finally mic - in and ear phone jack hidden usb plug and snapshot feature! definitely the biggest issues. Though I'd have love an expansion slot and the continued 8gb. I guess maybe Ill have to wait for 4th gen. touch sensitive buttons are okay if they can be stopped from being pressed when in yer pocket but it looks like the record button is still tactile and so I give that the thumbs up!

i was thinking of upgrading my vado hd and getting the samsung but its good to see an upgrade model unlike the 2nd gen. these actually look a lot better too.

having said that, i am so glad they didnt go Quicktime like the samsung model for instance

though I can see myself having problems editing with mp4 files as a lot of professional editing programs dont edit natively with mp4 as its not mean't to be. Wish they had stuck with the avi container.

I wonder whats impacted on the battery life? better vid and audio quality maybe?

I would love to see a video comparison and how much wider the video is.

Overall im happy with this update.

That looks really cool. A lot more mainstream than the first gen Vado HD. Too bad about the lack of an expansion slot and decrease in capacity though. I'm glad to see the lens is flush witht he cam too. I was afraid that meant they got rid of the wide-angle, but nope still there!

Above all though, one thing that the first Vado HD needed was a snapshot option on the camera itself and now we finally have one. Now I don't have to lug around both my digital camera and the VHD. Great job Creative!
