All I want is a player with a nice screen that can play full divx files like the Zen Vision M or W. It can be flash, but it doesn't have to be. I don't need a web browser, or a touch screen, just a quality media player, that is not long in the tooth like my ZVM. |

Sep 12 (2008) 12:30PM  | Sounds awesome, but like the last million creative products they fall short of anything in the front line of toys and end up being gimmicky mp3 players. i love my zen micro on the road and i used to love my Vision:M(until i the battery died after my warrenty expired and you wanted close to the same amount for a replacement than a refurb Vision:m), it was far superior PMP to any other product at the time especialy with divx support and drag and drop capability, however you gotta get with the getting creative. we need wi-fi support with built in browser support with FLASH and outlook type email along with the drag and drop support AND most important NO PROPRIETARY CABLES, USB-to-miniUSB(typeA) has been the best thing since sliced bread. stick with it. besides its not like you need a proprietary connector, none of you or your stupid Cambridge SoundWorks partners radios support just about any of your products (way to make ipod stronger by only supporting them) [ edited Sep 12 (2008) 12:32PM ] |

Now that flash is dropping in price so quickly and 32GB and soon even 64GB versions of players will be out there's no reason to stick with a hard drive anymore. I'm really hoping for a nice PMP that can be the successor to the ZVM/ZVW but I'm not counting on Creative to bring that to market. I was ready a month ago to buy a new player to replace my ZVM but Creative has failed to give me a path to follow. From my ZVM I go...down? The ZEN is not an option. |

My best advice: partner with Google before anyone and introduce a player that will go head to head with the iTouch. I've seen what Walmart sells, and Creative products are going to be squeezed out of the retail box store market very soon. Sony, Sandisk, Philips and other PMP makers are now competing on price & feature sets alongside Creative, and winning. Apparently, Creative was showing the tech at a distributor show when my friend saw it a few weeks back. He said the picture looks like the part of the card with headphone out and mic-in ports that is about an inch out from the edge of the laptop. The cool thing is that it has a built-in wireless transmitter so you can send audio files to transmitters around your home from the laptop. That sounds really cool (no pun intended)! With the number of laptops being sold it only makes sense to update their one and only ExpressCard offering and give it more functionality. I imagine its a condensed form of their Xmod wireless system in an ExpressCard format. [Linky] " Now I would say it makes sense. And even news channels cover their new products. Overall, I do hope that Creative do benefit in some way from this press event. |
