i know it looks shite.. really its cheap shite.. stuff thats prob going to break out the box.. but the idea is what people a wee while ago wanted... before the tablets started.. and yes 4 video codecs ..its cheap shite.. but at least someone is doing it... if creative did it.. and sold me a zen omega without the drive..

Update.. zen v+ is alive.. after charging for a week it popped up "My Zen"..

And as for your zen v+, what's going on with it? dead screen? or battery?

I've gone through 3 'dead' ones...two with dead screens, and one that lasted almost three years(dead battery, which can be replaced easily)

4GB Zen Micro Photo Coming Soon?

One of our members recently posted a link to an online retailer (J&R Computer World) that has posted what seems to be a 4GB Zen Micro Photo.

Specs:

Unit Size WxHxD: 2" x 3.3" x 0.7" / Weight: 3.8oz with battery
160x160 OLED screen resolution
MP3,WMA, and WAV
Signal-to-Noise Ratio: up to 98dB
Choose from 8 different backlight color options (fire, jungle, pastel, romantic, peace, cool, earth, and vibrant)
FM radio, FM Recorder and voice recorder
Store and view contacts, calendar and tasks
Customizable main menu
Has USB 2.0 compatible interface for rapid transfers

The dimensions are the same as the 8GB version, so it doesn't sound like they've moved to flash memory. Everything else also seems to be the same, although I don't recall seeing multiple color backlights being listed for the original ZMP. The pre-order price is listed at $179.99. For comparison the 8GB ZMP is retailing for $229 but you can actually get one right now from J&R for 169.99 after rebate. We might hear an official announcement for this later today.

That is color schemes on the screen for the menu, not backlights.

Oh okay, thanks for clarifying that. I thought it was kind've weird, because the mmulti-backlighting thing is found on the microdrive neeon.
