4GB Zen Micro Photo Coming Soon?

One of our members recently posted a link to an online retailer (J&R Computer World) that has posted what seems to be a 4GB Zen Micro Photo.
Specs:

  • Unit Size WxHxD: 2" x 3.3" x 0.7" / Weight: 3.8oz with battery
  • 160x160 OLED screen resolution
  • MP3,WMA, and WAV
  • Signal-to-Noise Ratio: up to 98dB
  • Choose from 8 different backlight color options (fire, jungle, pastel, romantic, peace, cool, earth, and vibrant)
  • FM radio, FM Recorder and voice recorder
  • Store and view contacts, calendar and tasks
  • Customizable main menu
  • Has USB 2.0 compatible interface for rapid transfers

The dimensions are the same as the 8GB version, so it doesn't sound like they've moved to flash memory. Everything else also seems to be the same, although I don't recall seeing multiple color backlights being listed for the original ZMP. The pre-order price is listed at $179.99. For comparison the 8GB ZMP is retailing for $229 but you can actually get one right now from J&R for 169.99 after rebate. We might hear an official announcement for this later today.

4GB seems too small for a photo player ...

It's definitely good info. You also made the front page over at DAPreview: [Linky]

For some reason I can't get to DAPreview, it says the page is loaded but there is nothing there. My computer has been doing this for about a week. Thanks for putting me on the front page.

Oh, let me clear this up: "Choose from 8 different backlight color options (fire, jungle, pastel, romantic, peace, cool, earth, and vibrant)"

That is color schemes on the screen for the menu, not backlights.

Oh okay, thanks for clarifying that. I thought it was kind've weird, because the mmulti-backlighting thing is found on the microdrive neeon.
